Josh Radnor once shared a story with his fictional kids about how he met his mother.
Somewhere down the line, he may also tell them how he banged a really famous doctor.
That's an awkward way of saying that the former How I Met Your Mother lead has been cast on at least one episode of Grey's Anatomy Season 15.
And that episode airs tonight!
Radnor - best know for portraying Ted Mosby on the aforementioned CBS sitcom from 2005 to 2014 - most recently starred on NBC’s Rise before it was cancelled after one season.
On Grey's Anatomy this evening, he will serve as a blind date for Ellen Pompeo's popular character, who will very much be on the search for love this fall and winter.
"What we're doing that's different than what we've seen is, she's gotta go on dates," showrunner Krista Vernoff previously told TV Guide, adding:
"Like in real life, love doesn't always land in your lap with the first date. And so, we're leaning into that a little bit."
Details about Radnor's character are being kept heavily under wraps, but it appears as if Meredith will finally agree to let her matchmaker patient, who is awaiting a kidney transplant, set her up.
Some folks out there are curious to see how this potential relationship will go...
... while others, as you can see below, are less excited.
In a clip that has surfaced online, Meredith stands in the lounge wearing a tan-colored trench coat and a white blouse underneath, while her sister-in-law Dr. Amelia Shepardwalks in and asks:
“What happened? Are you going to a funeral?"
“What’s wrong with you?” Dr. Alex Karev asks his pal. “You look weird.”
“Oh my god, you have a date,” Dr. Maggie Pierce says.
Indeed, she does!
Ever since Vernoff teased this summer that Meredith would maybe find a new boyfriend this seasons, fans have been speculating about the identity of the lucky man.
Would it be Dr. Andrew DeLuca?
Would it be transplant surgeon Nick Marsh?
And now we can ask whether it will be Radnor's unidentifed blind date?
Meredith, of course, has been single for about three seasons now, following the paindful and shocking death of Patrick Dempsey's Derek.
We still miss him. But we do understand that life must go on.
