Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson: This is Why They Split...

For Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson, it was all fun and games.

This was evident by how quickly the couple got together... how immediate they got engaged... how silly they acted in photos... how they talked about each other in public.

Most observers assumed a relationship based on humor and excitement could never last -- and they've now been proven correct.

On Sunday night, as detailed by The Hollywood Gossip, Davidson and Grande ended their engagement after four months.

The news did not come as a surprise.

But a deeper dive into what went wrong betweenm the singer and the comedian reveals an unfortunate truth:

Not only did the fun and games end, but a real-life tragedy is what put an end to the constant joy and ease between Grande and Davidson.

We refer, tragically, to the death of Mac Miller.

On September 7, the rapper died of a drug overdose.

He had previously been in a long-term relationship with Grande, one that concluded in large part due to his dependency on foreign substances and the toll it took on his famous partner throughout the duration of their romance.

Grande, unable to help Miller, finally had enough this spring.

According to source close to Ariana, per TMZ, Miller's passing took a serious toll on the artist.

For understandble reasons, right?

She found herself in a very dark place as a result, which would have been a challenge for any relationship to push through.

But perhaps she and Davidson would have stood a chance if they had a stronger base on which to rely.

Instead, the stars had only been an item for a few months and had never faced any sort of adversity before.

They basically just went out, had fun, acted all silly on social media and, according to Grande at least, enjoyed solid sex due to Davidson's penis size.

There was just no way for them to survive such a trauma such as Miller's overdose.

In the aftermath of Mac's death, TMZ writes that Ariana realized a couple of things:

1. She couldn't be fully invested in her relationship with Davidson.

2. She had rushed into a forthcoming marriage way too quickly by getting engaged.

This is why, in the end, she decided to pull the plug.

Other sources have claimed that the parting was mutual, and it seems very possible that Davidson saw it coming and agreed that the pair were not ready to be husband and wife.

However, TMZ confidently reports that Grande is the one who arrived at this ultimate decision.

“It happened this weekend,” a source told Us Weekly, adding:

“They realized it happened too quick and too early. The wedding is off, but they’re working things out. They’re not officially done yet.”

Eh, we'll see about that.

In our view, Davidson and Grande had their fun and provided sites such as this one with terrific content.

But then real life, in the most tragic way possible, took over and there's just no coming back from what transpired.
